The Gimnazium Fil’akovo was established in 1951. Currently, the high school has a four- year and eight-year training system in Hungarian and a four-year high school education in Slovak. The number of high school students is in the range of 210-251. The 1/3 of high-school students are visiting Slovak-language classes, a 2/3 of students are in Hungarian classes. The purpose of high school studies is to prepare the students for college and university studies. There are three direction of studies for higher education. Technical direction - engineers, programmers, IT Professionals - mathematics, physics and informatics subjects. Science direction: doctors, chemists - biology, chemistry and physics courses are based on history, geography. Human direction: Social sciences. Other courses provided by the high school: theatrical courses, Cisco Networking Academy (Local Cisco Network Academy).
