Local Development Hackathon - Cered

The Interindustria Knowledge Centre Foundation is organizing a one-day Local Development Hackathon on 16th June 2021 in Cered in framework of the Smart Communities 2.0 – How to be smart in the countryside? (SKHU/1902/4.1/027) project.

The main goal of the project is to support the smartness of rural settlements, including the development of “smart” communities and the implementation of knowledge transfer. A Hackathon with a specific focus on local development contributes to this goal. This one-day competition will be organized for young students and based on the use of innovative IT tools and knowledge.

The Hackathon is innovative and practice-oriented since students can

  • gain realistic experiences about tasks and problems that arise in spatial development work;
  • practice interactivity and teamwork;
  • receive mentoring and professional advice as well as direct feedback during their work.

Tasks include a geocaching-based treasure hunt, creating a cadastre of landscape values (Vault building) on a particular municipality using the information content of the "treasures" found, and a situational exercise on a local development problem.
